IT HAS ARRIVED

Please note: It was down to the goddamn wire getting this all ready for my self-imposed deadline and as such I didn't get to do as much testing as I would have liked, so if you find anything wrong please let me know via email, comment, youtube message or carrier pigeon.

THE RIDE NEVER ENDS

  1. I have been trying to play this game online, but I don't have a HUD when I play, or maybe the screen is too zoomed in? I don't know how to fix this, and need help. Also, the question mark key is an auto-level button. I assume it was for testing purposes and was forgotten to be removed. Please help!

    1. I'm going to assume I've done something very bloody stupid, but I can't replicate what you're seeing. Is it only when trying to play online? What resolution are you playing at? Windowed or fullscreen?
      IM SO SORRY

    4. I play at 1366x768 Fullscreen. I've tried other resolutions and windowed mode. I've played single player and the same thing happened. I'll download v1.1 and see if it helps. Thanks!

  2. Text in the game is really REALLY hard to read. Fix the spacing and do something to make the words stand out better.

  3. I am also unable to see the health, magic, and stamina bars, and it seems to be too far zoomed in. I tried every resolution both fullscreen and windowed. This is in singleplayer. I do not seem to have an auto level button, though. Thank you for the update, though!

    1. Ok that's weird as shit, but in the mean time typing "fov 90" into the console should fix it up temporarily until I get a patch out for it!

  4. Hi, first of all, I LOVE THIS GAME. I liked the visuals as it is, and mechanics are fun, but there's only one big problem: stats reset. I was playing with some friends and my stats went to "1" three times in the same night (only my stats, their stats were ok). Not only stats, items too! That was very frustrating, it happened when i died by monsters (only 2 times) and when fast loading between 2 maps (exit 1 map, enter rapidly another map). If you can fix this problem, that would be awesome.
I'll start supporting you with donations if you keep updating this game, i think that it has potential, keep the good work!

    1. Hey buddy cheers,
Losing levels is a problem I haven't come across before, so thanks for letting me know - do you know which map(s) you were on when it happened?

    2. First time happened twice after cemetery (a dark map with void and flying platforms). Second time was after the "normal" difficulty arena (i died inside arena). That was weird because my friends died but there was no lose in levels.

  5. Please add 1280x1024 to resolutions in next release

When the host hosts multiplayer it works fine but when the others try to connect it says:

Host_Mingled ... etc something about catching up with time from 34y326 to 27569 etc

It stays at this and doesn't to anything else???

Also Armitage im having problems trying to mod it... im not really experienced would u be able to give me some tips or help? I would like to easily mod your game :D

    1. Woah hey, didn't expect a post on this old Berserker Quest blog, it's been a few years.

The best thing I can do with helping you play multiplayer is show you a tutorial that someone made for Innawoods which was another of my older games in the same engine. You can find it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4M-kUJvarY

The advice in that video holds true for Berserker Quest as well. Good luck!

  13. Great game, i played in Single Player this one or two years ago and finished it, my friend and I played and finished it in 4 hours (in one single day) the game (Today 12/09/2017).

The best thing about this game is that the combat is fluid and quick, the weapons are awesome, and me and my friend spent some time looking at the fire and at the walls (The fire from the light sources is AMAZING).
And the magic is really fun too, i played a "archer/assassin" and my friend played mage, we both really liked all the mechanics.
The only "Bad" thing of this game is that, while in Single Player if we die we load the game, in multiplayer we can die and respawn, making the game a lot easier in the boss room(with only the sewer3 map being a real problem if you die ,this is a downside for me only, i liked the Single player mode)

OBS: There is some bugs in this game, i will say them but nothing major xD:
    - If we click to add Endurance or Intelligence without skill points to spend, we restore HP/Stamina or Mana, don't add in the Stats multiplier.
    - In the sewer3 map (the serpent boss or something like that), dying in Multiplayer by falling into the void, will crash almost all the time and drop both players from the session. (I don't know if this happens in Single Player, but it's possible that yes).
    - In Multiplayer, the autosave.sav don't work (at least for me), you need to create a custom save using the save command in the console, if you try to host multiplayer you will end on level 1 again, and if someone tries to enter Mid-game, the player will be level 1, even if they played before, making a manual save necessary for multiplayer.
    - In Multiplayer, some bosses are a little dumb, some have great AOE attacks and ranged ones making it hard even on Multiplayer (Dragon, Fallen Hero and sewer boss), but the Demon Knight, while being a very difficult boss in Single player because of it's massive damage and Defense, in Multiplayer it's a lot easier because of it's AI, one player hits it, it will try to go to the player, the other hits it, and it gets aggro'ed by the another one... and in the end it dies without making 1 or 2 attacks. (I think this is more a Limitation of the Quake/Darkplaces engine than the AI being a real problem, i don't know.)
    - This is not a bug, but the backspace resets you to level 1, being so close to the ENTER (where i use to confirm the stats), is a little strange.

    Well in the end:
The game is very great and fun, you can replay it a lot of times with different builds (aleardy played "SpellSword" and now "Archer/Assassin Tank"), the special effects are very charming and the models are awesome, i will replay it sometime in the near future again, and if i discover how, i will try to mod it by adding some new maps or dungeons, or even new mobs/magic.
(If you have any hint for modding it, tell me, thanks xD)
